This famille rose teapot was likely made in the 19th century and is uniquely adorn with two metal handles. The two handles appear thin and are held to the vessel by porcelain knobs which appear on either side of the vessel. These knobs have two holes, are painted white and lined in gold. This teapot also has a uniquely small lid whose knob resembles a single fruit which is painted gold and accompanied by four leaves which elevate the knob from the surface of the lid. Encircling the knob is a pink and green flower design which is lined in black. The lid has a single hole drilled into its top right side to allow steam to escape. The lid is separated by the porcelain handles by a floral decoration which is painted in shades of red, green and black against a white ground. a circle is created between the two porcelain handles with gold. The outer walls of the vessel have a scene of figures accompanied by identifiers (such as a sun, wall, tree, etc.) against a white ground. This scene almost wraps around the entire surface of the teapot and appears to depict a mother and her children who play within a court yard, while a man and his attendants stand outside. The entire bottom surface is glazed and has a single red marking. H: 4 1/4 in.(11 cm) W:6 in.(15.2 cm) Condition: Appears to be in excellent condition with no signs of repair or damage evident
