A 19th century Chinese porcelain famille rose vase of tapering square form, the shoulder painted with green and aubergine floral scrolls on a yellow ground, with a band of leaves in the same colours extending up the neck, each of the four sides painted in polychrome enamels with a different pair of birds perched or standing in rocky landscapes with flowering branches and various flying insects over a wide geometric band, the base with red six character seal mark, late Qing dynasty, 32.5 cm high
