A restrung necklace of mainly glass oblate and melon beads with two later gilt metal plaques: a small crescent with zigzag markings, and a large crescent with concentric bands of hatched triangles and other geometric forms. 166 grams, 56cm (22"). From the private collection of jewellery designer Natalia Josca (1933-2007), New York, USA; her collection formed personally from 1972-early 1980s, much of which she later made into designer jewellery such as this necklace.
