18th century BC. A carved terracotta master for a ceramic plaque depicting a scene of a rider on horseback holding a whip above the animal's rump. 548 grams total, 15cm with stand (6"). From the private collection of Mr S.M, London, 1970-1999. This is one of the earliest illustrations of riding a horse, rather than using it for traction.
