30th-28th century BC. A shallow alabaster dish with frieze of bulls to the outer face and drainage hole; accompanied by a handwritten scholarly note issued by W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham 1970-1993, which states: No.4 Shallow stone bowl with relief frieze of four cattle, one recumbent[,] one browsing, two walking. Sumerian 3000-2700 B.C. some restoration 7.7cm diameter 2.8cm high. 115 grams, 76mm (3"). Ex North London gentleman; formerly in a private collection formed between 1990 and 2000; accompanied by a hand-written report by Wilfrid George Lambert FBA (1926-2011), historian, archaeologist, and specialist in Assyriology and Near Eastern archaeology.
