A bronze panel from a handle, gently curved with gussets to the sidewalls, flange to the narrower end, knop finial to the broader end; the decorated face comprising a reserved central stem within a notched acanthus-leaf border, from the stem alternating scrolled tendrils and pendulous fruit, all with annulet finials; enamel fill in blue to the field with red enamel to the annulets; hollow to the reverse. 54 grams, 10cm (4"). Found near Castle Acre, Norfolk, UK; accompanied by a copy of an old Norfolk Museum services report.
