作品简介为清末在汉口居住的外国人拍摄、收集整理的照片集，除含外国人在汉口合影、举行婚礼、参加赛马活动、当地中国人日常生活风俗照片等，还收录有60余帧武昌起义时的珍贵影像，包括死伤的士兵及平民、被炮火摧毁的民房废墟、警戒的外国军队、被俘的敌军及行刑后的首级等，其中十余帧宽幅照片颇为少见，给人以极强的视觉冲击，凸显了这场新旧势力之间的斗争的残酷。品相保存完好，为反映清末汉口外国人活动、武汉等地清末风俗、武昌起义过程的珍贵影像资料。
