A CLOISONNE TRIPOD CENSER AND COVER, LATE QING China, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912). The censer is flanked by two curved handles, the ends of which are crafted in the form of dragon heads. The feet of the censer are surmounted by the same dragon heads, while the pierced cover shows a Buddhist lion finial. Condition: Firing flaws, chipping and losses, some verdigris. Provenance: From the collection of Georg Weifert (1850-1937). Thence by descent in the same family. Weifert was a Serbo-Austrian industrialist and the first governor of the Federal Bank of the Kingdom of Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia. Weight: 1,726 g. Dimensions: Height 31.8 cm.
