AN AGATE 'GRAPEVINE' BRUSH WASHER, QING China, 1644-1912. Finely carved with a small bird and a squirrel on the rim along with vines, grapes and leaves. The translucent stone is of a pale grey color with black and russet inclusions as well as amber shadings in the leaves, giving them a particularly naturalistic and autumnal look. Condition: Good condition, some of the natural fissures and inclusions may have developed into minor chips or cracks, also some losses. Provenance: French private estate. Weight: 837.1 g.
