A terracotta stamp for the church gift bread (Antidoron) with the image of the Theotokos (Mother of God) and the infant Jesus on a plain gold field, flanked by two angels; Mary with head slightly bowed left wearing a maphorion mantle, the infant Saviour facing away to left, supported on Mary's right arm, wrapped in a shawl, right hand in the pax gesture. Accompanied by a museum-quality impression. 7.78 grams, 33mm (1 1/4"). From a private American collection; acquired on European art market in the 1980s. [No Reserve]
