New Kingdom, 1550-1070 BC. A group of glazed composition amulets comprising: a green cowroid with hatched edges, underside with four entwined uraei forming a central knot; a blue ring bezel with a lotus flower(?), collector's label underneath; a vibrant blue bead with a raised image of a crouching baboon (emblem of Thoth), uraeus to the underside. 4.4 grams total,19-20mm (3/4"). From the private collection of jewellery designer Natalia Josca (1933-2007), New York, USA; her collection formed personally from 1972-early 1980s, much of which was later made into designer jewellery.
