Very beautiful ritual mask featuring an elephant, symbol of friendship of late 18th century or early 19th. It was used for not religious ceremonies. The white elephant is also connected with buddism because Buddha Shakyamuni lived different lives as an elephant. The mask is very big since tibetan ritual masks of animals are three times bigger than a human head. It is carved and it was coloured in white colour. Old patina. Some little missing parts. In good conditions. Size: Height cm 56 (inches 22), large cm 21 (inches 8.3) width cm 21 (8.3 inches) weight Kg. 2,600 Provenance: Antiquarian from Tibet Economy shipping: USA Canada $ 43 (10-15 working days), UE $ 11 (5-8 working days).
