History:
Alfred Beurdeley (1847-1919), son and grandson
of valued cabinetmakers of Napoleon III, assembled
one of the most important collections of drawings
and prints at the end of the 19th century and the
beginning of the 20th century. On his death, the collection
was dispersed in several sales. Our
watercolour went on sale on June 4, 1920, under
the hammer of Georges Petit.
