Chinese export blue and white porcelain ink box, retrieved from a shipwreck off the coast of Vietnam. The lid of the box depicts flowers. Dimensions: 1 1/8 inches tall X 2 3/4 inches diameter; 2.8 cm tall X 7 cm diameter. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is a chip on the inside rim. Provenance: From a collection in Florida. Historical Note: The Ca Mau shipwreck was discovered by fishermen in 1998. The ship was likely to have sunk in 1725 en route from Canton to Indonesia. About 130,000 ceramics were recovered from the seabed.
