A Chinese wooden box with stone inset in the lid, dating from the Republic period. The lid features a 4-clawed dragon and lingzhi clouds. Dimensions: 1 1/4 inches tall X 5 1/8 inches wide X 3 3/4 inches deep; 3.2 cm tall X 13 cm wide X 9.5 cm deep. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Overall good condition. Provenance: Collected by the consignors father, Edward Alley, who lived in Tientsin , China in 1937
