A Colima Seated Musician West Mexico, c. 250 BC – 250 AD Hollow earthenware with burnished red and red-brown slips. Seated with legs spread, arms raised with hands holding rattles (the top of one missing), head tilted up and facial features set in an ecstatic expression. The swollen torso is evenly pitted all over and etched with thin lines to indicate a garment. In good condition, glued repair of original piece at top of head at spout, missing top of proper right rattle, minor scrapes, a few black manganese deposits.
