Square, painted in green, yellow, red, turquoise and black outlines in reserve on a blue ground with a knotted Kufic inscription (al-mulk li-llah ‘Dominion is God’s’.) Approx 28 cm. by 27.5 Catalogue note The Kufic inscription on this superb tile can be compared with the frontispiece from a manuscript copied for Bayjunghu ibn Shahruk in Herat around the year 1430 (Thomas W.
