A Syrian Al sarraf silver and copper lamp supported on a large stand. The lamp and the lamp shades decorated with roundels enclosing six pointed star, Seal of Solomon, scrolling foliage and Arabic inscriptions. A large base consisting of different parts, with circular spreading foot and two conical shaped sections decorated with pieced medallions, two copper inlaid roundels containing a silver inlaid six pointed star, Seal of Solomon, Katim Sulymni, further stylised with a band containing cartouches enclosing Arabic inscriptions ‘The king supporter of the religion and the life” and Arabic poems. A middle long cylindrical stem decorated with cartouches on a pieced ground enclosing Arabic inscriptions in thuluth script amongst a dense design of flower scrolls and foliage. The upper part shaped as a vase and a bowl with inscriptions of proverb and hikamhas about honesty and truthfulness. 216 cm. height.
