A Chinese, 19th C,monochrome, red and blue flambé glazed bottle vase, the voluptuous body of the vase of globular form, rising to broad shoulders and a tall stick neck, covered in a stunning and complex vitreous oxblood red glaze, with areas of transmutation purple and blue (flambé), thinning at the shoulders and neck to a pale-blue glaze, and pooling lusciously at the foot. H: 13 3/4 " (35 cm) Condition: In good condition free from any damage Provenance: estate of a Maryland lawyer, acquired in 2006 in New York
