A PAIR OF JAPANESE IMARI DISHES EDO OR MEIJI PERIOD, 18TH OR 19TH CENTURY The foliate bodies typically decorated in underglaze blue, gilt, red, green and purple enamels, the well with a central medallion depicting Hotei surrounded by precious objects, the cavetto painted with alternating panels of stylised flowers and scrolling tendrils, the underside with Buddhist emblems, both 24.3cm.
