ATTRIBUTED TO FRANÇOIS RÉMOND (1747-1812), PAIR OF CANDELABRES TO VESTALS, Epoque LOUIS XVIto five ribboned light arms, in bronze with a brown and gold patina. The shaft is formed of a vestal, carrying in each hand an urn from which emerge leafy and grained arms of light ending in a leafy corolla forming a basin, the bobbin and the finely worked tapestry ciselés ; decorated with friezes of pearls, twisted gadroons, palms, rais-de-cœurs ; the central arm surmounted by a pine cone. The vestal standing on a truncated column in white and red Morello cherry marble, ringed with guilloché rings. The column is adorned at the bottom with chimeras with the head of canidé ; with erect ears, mane, the bust of a winged woman, ending in front feet with claws and hind feet in leafy and grained terms, symbolizing fidelity, power, the union of masculine, feminine and nature ; holding a drapery tied with trimmings in their mouths. The whole resting on a circular base with three protrusions. Small feet in a flattened guilloché sphere (small accidents in the marble, a detached but present bronze garland element, the arms of light slightly off-centre, slits and small accidents).
