A carved giltwood console table, in the manner of Thomas Chippendale, George III and later, the red book matched top over a swag carved frieze and on open cluster scroll carved supports and stepped feet, 100cm wide 56cm deep 78cm high Provenance: From the family of 'Robber Baron' Jason Gould. Condition report: Top a later replacement with filled chips to the edge ,other small frits, unfilled. The base re-gilded, sub-frame re-built. Vacant screw holes to reverse of legs suggest restoration has led to removal of old strengthening brackets. Burn mark to reverse of apron carving and frame. Swags with old glued repairs. Piece of return missing from back of left leg.
