Dimensions: Height: 11 1/2" Diameter: 5 3/8" Chinese Qing famille verte dragons porcelain garlic vase. Tall ovoid body, with bulbous lower region sweeping up into a slender neckline and onion-shaped head. The outer surface is covered in a clean-white glaze with green snarling imperial dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-Shui waves between flaming clouds to chase flaming pearl in a emerald-green color. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity. Wavy Lishui water and auspicious pattern on the mid vase, and snorkeling ruyi clouds covered the neck to top. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant finish that was applied by a meticulous glaze craftsman. The under base bear a reign mark, a six underglazed blue seal script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty. See More
