Dimensions: 7-3/4" H Chinese Tibetan Qing Dynasty gilt bronze figure of seated Shakyamuni Buddha. This posture resembles meditation, and wisdom which is like the posture used by Buddha while sitting beneath the bodhi tree where enlightenment was achieved. Resting atop a billowing cloud-form pedestal with eyes closed and body covered in diaphanous robes, this Buddha presents a peaceful presence. His head is topped with the traditional bun adorned at the apex by a single ornament and his ears have been traditionally pierced and elongated. Bronze is in beautiful condition with minimal marring of the surface. Underside with incised quatrefoil flora-form petal visvavajra surrounding the centralized DaiJi. See More
