Dimensions: 18-1/4" H x 8-7/8" Dia. Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Kangxi wucai Gu vase. The Chinese porcelain vase potted in a traditional Gu shape. The beaker having baluster shaped body, with bulging belly, trumpet-shaped on the tall neck ,slightly flaring mouth rim, raised with high round flaring foot base, like reverse bowl with splayed foot base and slight concave. The exterior decorated by applying of wucai design color, a variety of five-colored pigments creates bold opaque hand-painting of some elders in the garden terrace below scrolling ruyi clouds, dense tree, above thrashing wavy lishui. The Lines of the drawings are clear, the light and dark shades are subtle. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. The porcelain displays a subtle sheen as the light ricochets across the finely glazed exterior. Mark on under base, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, KangXi Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty. See More
