A late 19th century French ormolu clock Graux Marly Paris, the case richly decorated with seated female figures symbolic of fertility and twin cherub surmount, around Roman numeral enamelled dial signed "Graux Marly Ft De Bronzes A Paris", supporting twin train 8 day movement striking on a bell, approximately 60cms wide, 50cms high. Graux-Marly Frères exhibited at the 1878 Paris Exhibition and were held in high regard for their figurative sculptures as well as decorative ornaments. Work by Graux-Marly is relatively uncommon on the market, perhaps their best known work is the mantel clock known as "Pendule a la gloire du Roi" after the 1755 model by Edmé-Jean Gallien that celebrated the life, success and regal splendour of Louis XIV.
