Dr D.W. Collings'. 184 grams, 134 x 66cm (52 3/4 x 26"). Ex Dudley Collings collection, thence by descent; formerly in 'The Swansea collection'; found Alexandria, Egypt, in the 19th century; accompanied by a late 19th century identification label. Dr Dudley Willis Collings (1870-1955) was the first curator of the Southwold Museum and the town's doctor. Collings' son and daughter-in-law were close friends of Eric Blair (George Orwell) who shared their interest in anthropology. [No Reserve]
