A silver-gilt Claddagh ring, openwork hoop with four-petalled flowers, the bezel formed as hands holding a crowned heart, the heart inset with red garnet cabochon. 6.58 grams, 23.93mm overall, 18.74mm internal diameter (approximate size British R, USA 8 1/2, Europe 18 3/4, Japan 18) (1"). Property of a Worcestershire collector; previously in a Dutch jewellery collection; before that acquired on the German art market in early 2000s. The Claddagh ring represents love, loyalty and friendship.
