A Chinese jade plaque dating from the Ming dynasty. The plaque has a carving of a ****** framed by ruyi and lingzhi. It is accompanied by a wooden stand. Dimensions are: 2 1/8 inches tall X 2 3/4 inches wide, 5.4 cm tall X 6.9 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: A few small chips in the rim, but overall good condition. Provenance: From Mrs. Fullerton in New Jersey. Her father, Maurice Etangs was chief of police in Tianjin, China and lived there from 1935 to 1945. These ****s were collected during those times.
