A Chinese blue and red underglazed porcelain bowl with a 6-character Kangxi mark and of the period. The exterior depicts 5 fish among flowers with a wave ground. The interior depicts a band of sea creatures around a central roundel of a leaping carp. Dimensions are: 3 3/4 inches tall X 8 inches wide, 9.5 cm tall X 20.3 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is a crack in the rim. Provenance: From Mrs. Fullerton in New Jersey. Her father, Maurice Etangs, was chief of police in Tianjin, China and lived there from 1935 to 1945. These ****s were collected during that time.
