CHINE Epoque KANGXI (1662 1722)
CHINA - KANGXI Period (1662 - 1722)
Porcelain plate decorated in blue under cover of the landscape known as "Deshima Island". Three peasants and a cow are walking in a European landscape. (Chips, crack).
Diam. 20 cm.
For a long time this scenery was called "Deshima Island" (near Nagasaki), where the VOC headquarters were located between 1641 and 1862. But this decoration represents rather the Dutch town of Scheveningen.
