This bowl in the shape of a blooming lotus flower was probably intended for use in a Buddhist temple. The central character, "seed" represents the seed of the Buddha-like plant. The image of the boddhisattva is inscribed through the Sanskrit mantra of the word seed. A kind of blessing power of Buddhism, which can promote the process of Buddhist practice. This is a fine example of the interest in Buddhism during the Wanli period.
