原配红木架来源：美国藏家旧藏祁阳石产自湖南永州市祁阳县，石质细腻温润，石色匀净。其石通体紫色而夹有青绿石纹者，称「紫袍玉带」，拍品即属此类。插屏由上等祁阳石制成，取材上乘，肌理莹透，色泽深沉。匠师审时度势，师法造化，采用俏色高浮雕技法，以紫色为地，绿色为纹，饰菊石图。祁阳石宜制砚，明清时倍受文人雅士推崇，拍品以此材制插屏，亦别有意趣。
