Description
Translation provided by Youdao
Tang Dynasty, 618-906 AD. A terracotta figure, probably a camel trainer or groom, standing on a rectangular base; black and red painted pigment survives. 3 kg, 48cm (19"). From a west country collection in the 1990s; previously in a Hong Kong collection; accompanied by a copy of a thermoluminescence test report issued by Laboratory Kotalla of Germany, report number 44CM110520. The depiction of a myriad of foreign figures from Russia to Persia shows the extent of the use of these foreigners within the Tang court.
