23rd-21st century BC. A green serpentine cylinder seal, drilled vertically for suspension; accompanied by a museum-quality impression and a typed and signed scholarly note issued by the late W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'On the left is a seated figure on an angular stool raising one hand. On the right is a standing figure raising one hand. Both wear long robes. Between them is a table with a bread on top. There is a crescent in the sky and a tree or branch as a terminal. This is a Post Akkadian seal from southern Mesopotamia, c. 2200-2100 B.C. It is joined from fragments, but is complete and save for the breaks in good condition.' 5.7 grams, 21mm (1"). The Signo collection, the property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s; item number 1924; academically researched and catalogued by the late Professor Lambert in the early 1990s; and accompanied by a copy of a typed and signed scholarly note by the Professor.
