Second Isin Dynasty, 1150-1050 BC. A white jasper cylinder seal, drilled vertically for suspension; accompanied by a museum-quality impression and a typed and signed scholarly note issued by the late W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'The design shows a rearing horned animal immediately before a tree with three heads. A star appears over the back of the animal, and a crescent above a spade serves as a terminal. The design is put between bands of hatched triangles. This is a Babylonian seal of the Second Isin Dynasty, c. 1150-1050 B.C. Such seal are rare, and this one, though a little worn, still preserves clearly its elegant design.' 10.7 grams, 40mm (1 1/2"). The Signo collection, the property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s; item number 1509; academically researched and catalogued by the late Professor Lambert in the early 1990s; and accompanied by a copy of a typed and signed scholarly note by the Professor.
