15th-11th century BC. A grey jasper cylinder seal, drilled vertically for suspension; accompanied by a museum-quality impression and a typed and signed scholarly note issued by the late W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'There is a tree-like pattern with vertical stem, branches rising to each side and vertical lines at each side. On the left and facing it is a standing man raising one arm. The remaining space is given over to two scorpions and a ladder pattern between them. The whole design is put between upper and lower rules. This is a Levantine seal, c. 1400-1100 B.C., from Syria/Palestine or Anatolia. It is in quite good condition.' 2.1 grams, 20mm (3/4"). The Signo collection, the property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s; item number 2906; academically researched and catalogued by the late Professor Lambert in the early 1990s; and accompanied by a copy of a typed and signed scholarly note by the Professor.
