15th-5th century BC. A serpentine cylinder seal with a shallow piercing to the top and bottom faces; accompanied by a museum-quality impression and an old scholarly note, typed and signed by W.G. Lambert, late Professor of Assyriology, University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'The design shows a walking lion and some other kind of quadruped running away from the lion. This comes from west central Asia and dates to c. 1500-500 BC. It is not a well-known certainly datable type.' 12.38 grams, 23mm (1"). The Signo collection, the property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s; item number V-632; academically researched and catalogued by the late Professor Lambert in the early 1990s; accompanied by an original typed and signed scholarly note by Professor Wilfrid George Lambert.
