A carved sandstone fragment, D-shaped in section, featuring the partial torso, neck and head of a human figure; broad, rectangular nose, triangular eyes, full mouth; 'Petra' handwritten on the reverse; possibly Nabataean. 22.6 grams, 35mm (1 1/2"). From the private collection of a medical professional; previously in the collection of Mr Maurice Fallies [1883-1965].
