20th-16th century BC. A brown jasper cylinder seal with white vein through it, drilled vertically for suspension; accompanied by a museum-quality impression and a typed and signed scholarly note issued by the late W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'A scene of worship is the main item of the design: two standing facing figures in long robes, one raising one hand to the other. A crescent and a 'ball-staff' are fillers in this scene. There is also a dancing man, forked lightening and a mace occupying the remaining space. This is an Old Babylonian seal, c. 1900-1600 B.C. The full size of the dancing man is rare. The seal is in good condition.' 3.28 grams, 18mm (3/4"). The Signo collection, the property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s; item number V-894; academically researched and catalogued by the late Professor Lambert in the early 1990s; and accompanied by a copy of a typed and signed scholarly note by the Professor.
