13th-15th century AD. A square encaustic ceramic floor tile with yellow and green glazed design: stylised central flower within lozenge; stylised flower in each corner. 427 grams, 13 x 13cm (5 x 5"). Property of an East Anglia, UK, gentleman; previously from St Helen's Church, Bishopsgate, London, EC3. St Helen's is the largest surviving parish church in the City of London and it contains more monuments than any other church in Greater London except for Westminster Abbey. It was the parish church of William Shakespeare when he lived in the area in the 1590s. [No Reserve]
