A group of four British early medieval lead seals, each with modern impression and transcription: a late 13th or early 14th century vesica-shaped personal seal matrix bearing legend 'S' PAGANE F EDMVNDI', or 'seal of Pagani son of Edmund', around a central eight-pointed star, reverse with pierced suspension lug and decorative design in relief; a late 13th or early 14th century piriform personal seal matrix bearing legend 'S ALIC RELIC ROB’TI RVLLOC', or 'seal of Alice, widow of Robert Rulloc', ellipsoid border enclosing stylised wheat ear(?) in centre, remains of lug to reverse; a 13th century vesica-shaped personal seal matrix bearing legend 'S RICARD CARPET', or 'seal of Richard Carpet', ellipsoidal border enclosing a stylised 'eye'(?) motif at centre, or two concentric circles flanked by three pellets; a 13th century vesica-shaped personal seal bearing legend 'S' HENRICI VAVELL', or 'seal of Henry Wavell', ellipsoidal border enclosing the design of an arrow in flight(?) at the centre. 72 grams total, 27-37mm (1 - 1/4").
