A group of four British early medieval lead seals, each with modern impression and transcription: a 13th century discoid personal seal matrix bearing legend 'S DIONISIE FL BERTS', with incised circular border enclosing a central star or flower motif, remains of lug on reverse; a 13th century discoid personal seal matrix with punctuated legend 'S' IONIS LEWY NEHE', circular border enclosing a central lis design; a 13th century vesica-shaped personal seal matric bearing legend 'S' CRISTIN’ FIL BENE', or 'seal of Christine son of Bene'(?), with ellipsoid border enclosing a Christian cross design, squashed suspension loop to reverse; a 12th or 13th century vesica-shaped personal seal matrix bearing legend 'S' GALF DE HALT', or 'seal of Geoffrey of Halt'(?), Christian cross at the top, enigmatic central design, reverse with lug and Christian cross on orb flanked by two pellets in relief. 70 grams total, 26-34mm (1 - 1 1/4").
