George Broadfoot (1807-1845) was deployed to the frontier provinces during the First Anglo-Afghan War, during which he was commended for his gallantry. At the close of the war he was created a Companion of the Order of the Bath, and appointed Commissioner of Moulmein. Broadfoot was shot in the heart and killed at Ferozeshah on 21 December 1845.
