Antique, fine, Chinese Huang-Li wood brush pot. Republic period. Such brush pot was highly appreciated treasure of the scholars desk. It's made out of the treasured Huang-Li wood, coming from southeast Asia (Vietnam). A close relative of the very expensive Huang-Hua-Li wood, coming from china. This brush pot was carved to resemble a tree trunk with dense grainy wood. There 2 cracks, starting at the base, going up the first quarter. Each appx. 4.5 cm. outside, not inside Size 18x12.5 cm
