A Chinese iron-red vase, of ovoid form with an inverted rim, painted with shou characters surrounded by scrolling lotus, a ruyi-head border to the shoulder, scroll handles, four-character Shende Tang zhi (Made for the Hall of Prudent Virtue) mark in iron red, 28.5cm high 矾红彩缠枝莲纹瓶 《慎德堂制》矾红楷书款 Condition report: Surface scratches. One handle with a small firing crack.
