BEDEUTENDER ROKOKO KOMMODENAUFSATZSCHRANK. Braunschweig. Datierung: Um 1740. Technik: Nussbaum, Wurzelholz, Rüster u.a. Hölzer poliert und eingelegt. Gravierte Elfenbeineinlagen. Vergoldete Messingbeschläge. Messing und Eisenschlösser. Beschreibung: Ausladendes, dreischübiges Kommodenunterteil auf reich beschnitzten Volutenfüßen und geschwungener Front. Korrespondierender, zweitüriger Aufsatz mit Pilastern und geschwungenem Gesims. Innen sechs Schübe. In gerahmten Feldern Bandelwerk, Akanthus und Blumenvasen eingelegt. Auf den Schlagleisten zusätzlich weibliche Allegorien Glaube, Liebe und Hoffnung darstellend. Maße: 226x140x59cm. Description: Expansive, three-drawer chest on elaborately carved volute feet and with curved front. Correspondingly shaped, two-door top with pilasters and curved cornice. Six drawers inside. Inlays in framed sections show ribbons, acanthus decor and vases with flowers. On cleats additional inlays depicting the female allegories of faith, love and hope. Measurement: 226x140x59cm.
