Description
Translation provided by Youdao
This vibrant impressionist oil on canvas was done by well-known North Eastern painter Charles Curtis Allen. He was born in Massachusetts and specialized in mountain landscapes, particularly around Jeffersonville, Vermont, a ski mecca in the winter. The painting may well be a view of Mount Mansfield from Jericho, Vermont. (A staff member at the auction house lived nearby.) It is a fall scene because of the color of the leaves; Mount Mansfield is the highest mountain in Vermont, and if this was a winter scene, it would have been covered in snow. Signed and dated 1937 in the lower right corner. Sight size is 35 x 39 in. and the overall size is 41 x 44 in.Please note that all sales are final. No refunds will be given under any circumstances.
