Graduate of Decatur High School, He served aboard the USS Hornet CVA 8 as a flight deck safety engineer during the Korean conflict. After returning from his duty with the US Navy Alex went on to Graduate from the University of Georgia, Alex was active in the debate society. After 48 years in the business, he retired. Amongst his many enjoyments in life, he was particularly fond of his antique collections and his garden that he was known for and loved sharing it with the community which he loved so much.
