Two late antique Roman oil lamps, Northern Africa, 4th century Two oil lamps of reddish clay. On the central disc of the first geometric star-shaped decoration. Sintered. Intact. Length 14 cm. On the double perforated central disc of the second specimen the face of a female deity, the disc framed by geometrical decoration. Intact. Length 13.5 cm. Provenance: From a collection in the Lower Rhineland, acquired in the 1960s. Condition: II - Zwei Öllampen, Nordafrika, römisch, 4. Jhdt. Öllampe aus rötlichem Ton, auf dem Spiegel geometrischer Dekor in Form eines Sterns. Versintert. Intakt. Länge 14 cm. Dazu eine Öllampe aus rotem Ton, auf dem zweifach durchlochten Spiegel das Antlitz einer weiblichen Gottheit. Der Spiegel gerahmt von geometrischem Dekor. Intakt. Länge 13,5 cm.
